Notebook Reviews: WRITTEN IN THE WIND

Douglas Sirk  – 1956

Written In The Wind is a slick and well acted melodrama with a sterling cast (Rock Hudson, Lauren Bacall, Robert Stack and Dorthy Malone). Rock Hudson is well cast at the normal guy who is caught-up within the confines of high society and Bacall is also excellent as his romantic foil. 

This drama from director Douglas Sirk looks great and the production design and cinematography must be praised. They don’t make them like this anymore.
