Notebook Reviews: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Robert Mulligan – 1962

4 out of 5 stars

To Kill A Mockingbird is a powerful drama with a wonderful performance from Gregory Peck. The child actors in this adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel are also excellent and their parts really anchor the film (it also features Robert Duvall‘s big screen debut).

The impact of Lee’s book and Mulligan’s film can been seen in so many other works, including Stand By Me and A Time To Kill

The film has a great atmosphere and the close-knit community of the American Deep South is well replicated. To Kill A Mockingbird comes recommended to children and adults alike.
