Just Accept It: Disney Wants Chris Pratt To Replace Harrison Ford As INDIANA JONES

It looks likes Chris Pratt is going to be Indiana Jones. Disney has handed over a lot of cash to pick up the rights to everyone’s favourite archaeologist and while Harrison Ford is game to crack the whip one last time, the mouse house will want much more mileage out of the character. The fanboys went crazy for Pratt last summer following the release of Guardians of the Galaxy and many of them were vocal in having the Parks and Recreation star replace Ford in either Star Wars or Indiana Jones (to be fair, it’s better than Bradley Cooper).

Deadline is now reporting Disney’s interested in having Pratt slip on Ford’s fedora for a new series of Indiana Jones adventures. The site doesn’t have a source and Disney has refused to comment – but there’s a lot to take into account here. Pratt’s turn in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy helped propel the film to a box office gross of over $800 million, making him a Disney golden boy. He’s also starring in Jurassic World, the next instalment in the Jurassic Park franchise. That film is produced by Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall– two men behind the Indiana Jones movies. It should also be noted that Johnston is married to Kathleen Kennedy, the chief of Lucasfilm.

I’m not thrilled at the prospect of non-Harrison Ford Indiana Jones movies – but I have to understand that this is the reality of the world we live in today.
