THE EXPENDABLES 4 Scores Funding From China And Gets Ready For A 2016 Shoot
Movies In Focus doesn’t care what anybody says – The Expendables franchise is fun. Sylvester Stallone has been able to create an enjoyable series of movies which sees a great group of old-time action stars have a good time. What’s not to like about that?
Now The Expendables 4 is finally on the way. The film has secured investment and distribution from China and it’s gearing-up for a 2016 shoot for a 2017 release. The budget is expected to be over $100 million.
The Expendables 3 under-performed at the US box office following a piracy scandal which saw the film released online before its release. The action pic grossed $39.32 million in the US but over $200 million globally. $78 million of that money came from China.
The Expendables 4 will likely see some familiar faces along with a few new additions to the franchise – Pierce Brosnan has already stated he’s been approached to star in the sequel.
