Directed by Femi Oyeniran and written by Kieran Bourne, I Am Pilate is a modern-day riff on the story of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor who presided over the trial of Jesus Christ.
The short film is the second instalment of the I Am series from Four8, a London based creative film agency. The aim of the I Am series is to introduce biblical characters in timeless settings and explore their individual journeys.
I Am Pilate is a serious mood piece, a film which takes a tale that we know well and gives it a new spin. The film sees an obituary fact-checker (Jazz Lintott) visiting the home of the former district governor (Shaun Scott), who then recounts the events surrounding the biggest regret of his career. The film was released on Four8’s YouTube channel on 8 April and it will be shown on London Live on 12 April.
