Notebook Reviews: RISING SUN
Philip Kaufman – 1993
Philip Kaufman’s Rising Sun is the other Michael Crichton adaptation from 1993.
It’s a good thriller, but it seems like everyone involved is taking this Crichton potboiler just a little too seriously, As always, it’s worth watching because of another charismatic turn by the great Sean Connery. Wesley Snipes and Harvey Keitel are also good in this Japanese themed thriller. It’s no classic, but Rising Sun is an enjoyable piece of Hollywood entertainment.
