Notebook Reviews: WATERWORLD
Kevin Reynolds – 1995
Kevin Reynolds’ Waterworld is a good old fashioned swashbuckler with a sci-fi edge – it’s a film which definitely didn’t deserve all the bad press at the time of release.
Kevin Costner enjoys himself as the gruff antihero, while Dennis Hopper camps-it-up as the villain of the piece. Reynolds stages the action sequences with proficiency and the film has some strong visuals and a great score. Waterworld is a minor classic.
