Rod Daniel – 1989

K-9 is an enjoyable and very ’80s comedy-thriller. James Belushi is good value as the wise-cracking detective who gets a dog as a new partner. Ruff justice indeed. 

The Rod Daniel directed film is a bit unbalanced in the way that it flips from gritty to the comedic, but it probably doesn’t deserve its 15 rating. Dumb fun but well made, K-9 is best suited for 11 year-olds.
