Alexander Payne  – 1999

Election is a solid black comedy from director Alexander Payne. The film features some great directorial touches and Matthew Broderick excels as the teacher with a grudge battling Reese Witherspoon‘s student.

Ultimately, Election‘s main flaw is that the characters are so unlikeable that you can’t really sympathise with their plight.
