Notebook Reviews: AMELIE
Jean-Pierre Jeunet – 2001
Jean-Pierre Jeunet‘s Amelie is a truly charming film which is unusually beautiful and very funny. It features a start-making turn from Audrey Tautou in the title role.
Jeunet’s film is a clever and inventive piece of cinema, which is one of the best films of its year. Paris has never looked so beautiful and French films have never been so good. The soundtrack by Yann Tiersen is outstanding too.
Amelie is enchanting moviemaking at its finest. It’s romantic, funny, and spellbinding. A film for everyone.
