Mission: Impossible 6: Rebecca Ferguson To Return; Christopher McQuarrie Does The Impossible

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation was a a scorching-hot summer action movie that cleaned-up at the box office around the globe. A sixth instalment in the franchise was on the cards before Rogue Nation opened and now there are a few more details on Tom Cruise’s sixth go-around as Ethan Hunt.

Variety is reporting that both writer/director Christopher McQuarrie and co-star Rebecca Ferguson will be returning for the next movie. The plan is for the film to shoot next year for a 2017 release.

If McQuarrie does direct, he’ll be the first director to return to the franchise, as each previous entry has had a different director and a different feel.
