It Looks Like Chris Pine Is No Longer JACK RYAN

Movies In Focus was a big fan of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, but the film’s lukewarm box office performance means that I was probably the only one. The franchise reboot saw Chris Pine take on the role of Ryan, following in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck. Pine, who has been promoting Into The Woods believes that we won’t be getting more Jack Ryan adventures in the future – at least with him in the lead:

”I don’t think it made enough money for that to happen. That’s one of my deep regrets, that we didn’t totally get that right. It’s a great franchise and if it’s not me then I hope it gets a fifth life at this point. It’s just great. I love the spy genre. I hope it’s done again and with a great story.”

Sad times.
