Gangster’s Paradise: Trailer For CAPONE Starring Tom Hardy
Movies In Focus wasn’t overly intrigued by Josh Trank‘s Capone (formerly Fonzo) before I caught this recently dropped trailer. I’m still not fully sure what the plot is, but this looks well produced and Tom Hardy looks fully committed to the role of Al Capone. It’s also got a good supporting cast: Linda Cardellini, Noel Fisher, Jack Lowden, Matt Dillon and Kyle MacLachlan.
It’s understandable why they dropped the Fonzo title – everyone knows who Capone is. What’s Fonzo? A Happy Days spin-off?
The synopsis:
A ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Al “Fonzo” Capone (Tom Hardy) was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Capone’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.
