Movies In Focus adores the visual aesthetic of Wes Anderson‘s films. I was captured by his work when I first saw Rushmore way back in 1999 and I’ve been a fan ever since. Anderson’s movies look great. but they also have a tremendous about of heart. He’s an auteur in the truest sense.
The French Dispatch has a huge all-star cast which includes (deep breath) Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Saoirse Ronan, Elizabeth Moss and others.
It’s a lover letter to journalism, a cinematic riff on The New Yorker with that special Anderson je ne sais quoi.
The French Dispatch is due for release in the US on 24 July and in the UK on 28 August.
