That Tom Selleck missed out on the role of Indiana Jones in Raiders Of The Lost Ark because of Magnum, P.I. is a well known piece of movie trivia. Selleck would have been great in the role, but Harrison Ford really made the part his own.

Ford might have gone on to become one of the biggest movie stars of all-time, but Selleck also had an impressive career. Magnum, P.I ran for eight seasons, while he had lead roles in movies such as Runaway, Quigley Down Under, Three Men And A Baby and Her Alibi. His current television show, Blue Bloods has been running since 2010.
