Trailer: VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Giving Off Serious Spawn Vibes – And That’s Not Good

Movies In Focus hasn’t seen 2018’s Venom, so I can’t attest to how good or bad it was. However, the film grossed over $856 million worldwide and a sequel was always going to be on the cards.

That follow-up is coming in the shape of Venom: Let There Be Carnage – but it’s not a good thing that this new trailer is reminding me of Mark A.Z. Dippé’s woeful adaptation of Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. That 1997 film was CGI hell (literally) and not only is it the worst comic book adaptation I’ve ever seen – but it’s one of the the worst films I’ve clapped eyes on. This looks like it might be similar – albeit with updated effects.

This time around Andy Serkis calls the shots for the Tom Hardy starrer which also features Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage.

However, Venom: Let There Be Carnage might be worth watching for Harrelson’s hairpiece alone.
