Trailer: Anne Hathaway & Chiwetel Ejiofor Star In Doug Liman’s Pandemic Inspired Heist Movie LOCKED DOWN
HBO Max has dropped the trailer for Doug Liman’s Locked Down, a new COVID-19 inspired comedy-thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Hathaway and Ejiofor play a couple on the brink of breaking-up when a lockdown situation keeps them together. They then plan a heist to steal a diamond from Harrods. Stephen Merchant, Mindy Kaling, Lucy Boynton, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon, Ben Stiller and Ben Kingsley co-star in the film which was written by Steven Knight.
Doug Liman is a director who likes to dabble in a variety of genres (see Swingers, Go, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jumper, Edge of Tomorrow and American Made) and this looks London set heist pic looks like a fun and entertaining cinematic experiment (his next stop is space with Tom Cruise).
Locked Down makes its premiere on HBO Max on Thursday 14 January 2021.
The synopsis:
In Locked Down, just as they decide to separate, Linda (Anne Hathaway) and Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) find life has other plans when they are stuck at home in a mandatory lockdown. Co-habitation is proving to be a challenge, but fueled by poetry and copious amounts of wine, it will bring them closer together in the most surprising way.
