The unstoppable Tom Cruise’s American Made and Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman is going to take the star into orbit (literally). Liman is set to direct the movie that Cruise plans to shoot in space with the help of Elon Musk’s Space X and NASA.
According to Deadline, Liman and Cruise collaborated on the concept for the film and Liman even wrote the first draft of the screenplay. He’ll also produce the film alongside his pal, who he bonded with over a love of flying.
I can only imagine that there will be some serious preproduction to be done on the currently untitled film, which Cruise won’t be able to shoot until after he has completed Christopher McQuarrie’s next two COVID-delayed Mission: Impossible instalments.
