Teaser Trailer & Poster For THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Starring Chris Hemsworth & Half Of Hollywood
Thor: Love And Thunder looks like more of the same superhero slapdash. This is kind of getting exhausting now as it seems like nearly everyone in Hollywoodis picking-up a nice big payday for starring in Taika Waititi’s fourth Thor movie.
Chris Hemsworth once again wields the hammer, while Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Matt Damon, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Melissa McCarthy and Russell Crowe all go along for the ride.
Thor: Love And Thunder might be good – it might even be great – but this trailer gives the impression that it’s the usual scripted one-liners, too much CGI and a lot of nudge-nudge humour. Hunt For The Wilderpeople aside, I’m not a fan of Taika Waititi’s schtick.
The synopsis:
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Directed by Waititi (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “Jojo Rabbit”) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, “Thor: Love and Thunder” opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
