Teaser Trailer For The New Disney+ Star Wars Show OBI-WAN KENOBI
If the truth be told, Movies In Focus is a little over exposed to all things Star Wars. However, the only hope for any sort of reengagement is the new Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I’m excited to see Ewan McGregor slip back into his Jedi robes for the new show, which is set to arrive on Disney+ on May 25 2022 – the 45th anniversary of George Lucas’ original Star Wars.
This first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi looks impressive (most impressive) – very in-keeping with Lucas prequel trilogy and it makes good use of John William‘s brilliant Dual Of The Fates cue from The Phantom Menace.
My major issue with the trailer is that it features very little Ewan McGregor – something of a worry for a show called Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The synopsis:
Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new Disney+ limited series from Lucasfilm, will debut exclusively on Disney+ May 25. The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master.
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
