Steel Crazy After All These Years: Henry Cavill Back As SUPERMAN

Hot on the heels of news that Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of Justice League is getting a 2021 release on HBO Max, comes word that Henry Cavill is set to reprise the role of Clark Kent/Superman in a forthcoming DC Comics film.

Apparently it’s not a standalone Superman film – so what DC Comics film is it? Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad have already been completed, so it’s unlikely Cavill will feature in those. Will it be Aquaman 2, Shazam! 2 or Black Adam or The Batman

Once Movies In Focus knows, you’ll know.

Cavill played Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Justice League but he’s never fully been able to fully embrace the iconic role – something which isn’t his fault.

Cavill’s interpretation of Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent is spot-on. He brings the right notes of heroism and earnestness to the role, as well as embodying the physical presence of the character. The news that he’ll continue as the character is good news and it potentially still leaves the door open for Man Of Steel 2.
