Tom Cruise was doing what Tom Cruise does best (a high octane stunt) when the star was injured on the set of Mission: Impossible 6. Cruise was leaping between buildings in London when the stunt went wrong and he slammed into the side of a building. According to Deadline, Cruise suffered a broken foot or ankle as well as other potential injuries. The injury will apparently shut down production on the film for a minimum of nine weeks.
No official word has been released, but it might delay the release of the Christopher McQuarrie directed film from its planned 27 July 2018 release date. I’ll keep you posted on how this shakes out.
I just wonder what will happen to Henry Cavill’s moustache now for the Justice League reshoots?
Paramount Pictures has released the below statement:
“During production on the latest Mission: Impossible film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt. Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, and the film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018. Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can’t wait to share the film with everyone next summer.”
No news on Henry Cavill’s ‘stache.
