Pierce Brosnan And Dominic Cooper Star In THE NOVEMBER MAN

Pierce Brosnan is set to re-team with his Dante’s Peak director Roger Donaldson for The November Man, the long-in-development spy thriller that is also set to star Dominic Cooper.

November Man was first announced almost a decade ago, and I thought that it had gone the way of The Thomas Crown Affair 2, but now the film looks set to shoot in October. The project was reignited when Brosnan’s Irish DreamTime production company signed a multi-picture financing and distribution deal with The Solution Entertanment Group.

“November Man tells the tale of an ex-CIA operative (Brosnan) who is brought back on a very personal mission and finds himself pitted against his former pupil (Cooper) in a deadly game involving high-level CIA officials and the Russian president-elect.”

Speaking of the project Brosnan said: “November Man has been a labor of love for both me and my company. I’m looking forward to working with The Solution and reuniting with both Roger and Dominic as we prepare to make a great film.”

November Man is based on Bill Granger’s novel titled There are No Spies-it’s part of a series of espionage novels and it’s hoped that film will be the start of a franchise. Now that’s good news. Great news even.

Just recently I was musing that Brosnan should be given meatier roles, and this looks to be just the thing. I’m a fan of Dante’s Peak (I know it has its detractors) and I think that Donaldson’s No Way Out is a tight thriller (we will skip Species), so we know that he has the chops to do this. Brosnan knows how to do the spy thing, obviously there’s his James Bond work, but The Tailor of Panama should not be forgotten.
