Notebook Reviews: WHAT LIES BENEATH

Robert Zemeckis – 2000

Boy, does What Lies Beneath work. Zemeckis has crafted a fine supernatural thriller, with great performances from Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. The pair play to their strengths as Zemeckis riffs on the work of Alfred Hitchcock. 

What Lies Beneath’s only problem could be that it might have one or two too many fright moments, but that’s nothing when the rest of the film is so good.
