Steven Soderbergh – 2000

Traffic is an exceptionally well acted and directed drugs drama from the great Steven Soderbergh. It’s compelling viewing and Michael Douglas delivers some career best work as a freshly appointed Drugs Tsar who discovers the complexities of his new role. The rest of the cast is also great: Benicio de Toro, Dennis Quaid, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Don Cheadle. 

Traffic is a film filled with complexities and you’ll need to focus in oder to understand the details. It’s richly textured and it looks great.
