Robert Towne – 1988 

Tequila Sunrise is a sizzling first-rate thriller from the great writer/director Robert Towne.  This 1988 film is slick and enjoyable with a top tier cast (Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer) who all deliver the goods.

This might be a stylish Hollywood thriller – but it feels honest (it has some great dialogue). It has the occasional pacing issue – but it’s still first rate stuff.
