Notebook Reviews: JURASSIC PARK

4 out of 5 stars

Steven Spielberg – 1993.

Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park is great fun. It’s an excellent adaptation of Michael Crichton‘s best-selling novel and Spielberg doesn’t get bogged down in too much of the book’s science. It might take a little while for this blockbuster to get going, but when it does it’s one hell of a ride. The cast – Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough all impress (Goldblum in particular is a stand-out) and even the kids add some interesting touches to the plot.

Jurassic Park‘s visual effects are spectacular and the action sequences are incredibly well staged – but would you expect anything less with a pro like Steven Spielberg behind the camera? This dinosaur adventure also features yet another exquisite score from the mighty John Williams

Jurassic Park is a must-see movie that delivers for audiences of all ages.
