Notebook Reviews: HEARTBREAKERS

David Mirkin – 2001

Hearbreakers isn’t a bad comedy – but it would be nothing without it’s brilliant cast.

Gene Hackman seems to be having a great time – the role is an odd choice for him. Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt excel as the con-women taking rich men for a ride while Ray Liotta and Jason Lee also impress. Carrie Fisher and Anne Bancroft also put in an appearance. 

At its core, Heatrbreakers is essentially a lowbrow comedy – but you’ll have fun if you don’t expect too much.
