Notebook Reviews: GROUNDHOG DAY
Harold Ramis – 1993.
Director Harold Ramis‘ Groundhog Day is a true comedy classic. The great Bill Murray is on peak form as the grouchy weatherman forced to relive the same day over and over. It might just be Murray’s most memorable performance. Andie MacDowell also impresses as the TV producer who Murray falls in love with over time.
A great premise and a wonderful script make Groundhog Day highly watchable. Ramis’ film is expertly written and well constructed and it just builds and builds. The progression of Murray’s character development is perfectly handled.
Groundhog Day is one of the all-time great comedies – and you’ll want to watch it again and again and again…
