Stanley Donen – 1963

Fantastic! Both Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn are on fantastic form in this romantic-comedy-spy-thriller. The script sparkles with great one-liners and witty banter. The supporting cast is brilliant too: James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Matthau. 

Stanley Donen balances the thrills and the comedy and the pace never flags. Charade is a spy film which is as good – if not better than James Bond at its best!
