Notebook Reviews: TOTAL RECALL

Paul Verhoeven – 1990

Total Recall is a first rate science fiction action movie from Dutch director Paul Verhoeven. Sure, some of the effects might be a little dated in the CGI era, but they were great for their time and they still hold-up. Arguably,  this Philip K. Dick adaptation improves with age – they don’t make them like this anymore. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger is great in the lead role and nobody does this type of movie like him. Total Recall is violent, witty and there’s a huge bodycount – but it’s damn good fun.
