Notebook Reviews: BOWFINGER
Frank Oz – 1999
Bowfinger is a spot-on Hollywood satire with shades of Tim Burton’s Ed Wood. Steve Martin is great as the failing filmmaker and he’s well served by the biting script. Frank Oz‘s film borders on parody but it doesn’t go over the edge. Eddie Murphy is good-value in one of his finest roles in years and the rest of the cast brilliantly ham-it-up.
Bowfinger fun entertainment for film fans, who should get many of the in-jokes.
