Ridley Scott – 2001
Black Hawk Down is one of Ridley Scott‘s finest films. This is a superbly constructed action picture which is wonderfully shot and edited to within an inch of its life.
The epic Jerry Bruckheimer production has a great cast including Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, William Fichtner, Jeremy Piven and Sam Shepard scattered throughout. Although at times it’s difficult to follow what’s going on due to the sheer number of characters, this really raises the blood pressure.
Black Hawk Down is like the first 25 minutes of Steven Spielberg‘s Saving Private Ryan – only spread across two hours. Powerful.
