Michael Keaton Goes From Batman to BIRDMAN

Anything with Michael Keaton is fine with me (even the RoboCop remake, sort of). However, I’m really excited at the prospect of Birdman, a film which appears to riff on Keaton’s Batman past.

Keaton will be joined in Birdman by fellow superhero movie stars, Edward Norton (The Incredible Hulk) and Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man), while Naomi Watts and Hangover star Zach Galifianakis fill out the cast. The dark comedy is being directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu.

Here’s a synopsis from Deadline:

“A former actor (Keaton) who once played a superhero puts together a play on Broadway that is based on a short story by Raymond Carver. Unfortunately, the ex-superhero’s plans to soar again are threatened by his egotistical lead stage actor. Norton will play that actor.”

Looks like Norton is playing on his real-life “difficult’ image, while it’s good to see Keaton continuing to pick-up work.

Sounds great, can’t wait for this one.
