Michael Bay And Carlton Cuse Bring Tom Clancy’s JACK RYAN To The Small Screen

It’s a shame Kenneth Branagh’s Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit failed to relaunch the Jack Ryan franchise on the big screen. Movies In Focus was a fan of the spy flick (read the review) but it failed to score enough cash to make Paramount Pictures pull a trigger on a follow-up ($50 million US and $135 million globally on a $60 million budget).

However, it now looks like Carlton Cruise and Michael Bay will be bringing Tom Clancy’s CIA agent to the small screen. The Platinum Dunes, Skydance Media and Paramount TV show will use Clancy’s novels as source material but the plot won’t be based on any particular book.

Currently Jack Ryan has no cast, but there’s a lot of interest in the show, so expect to see this fast-tracked.
