Mel Gibson To Star In John Wick Series THE CONTINENTAL

The mighty Mel Gibson will make a (very) rare television appearance with in the forthcoming John Wick spin-off series, The Continental. The three part event series, produced for Starz by Lionsgate Television will serve as a prequel of sorts to the Keanu Reeves led movies and will focus on a young Winston Scott – the character played by Ian McShane in the movies.

Gibson will play a character named Cormac. No other cast members have signed at this time.

The synopsis:

The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, which increasingly has become the centerpiece of the John Wick universe. This will be accomplished through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Ian McShane won’t appear, but he might do voice over narration for the series which currently has John Wick star Keanu Reeves in negotiations to Executive Produce.

Movies In Focus previously had zero interest in The Continental and now it’s must-see TV due to the appearance of the great Mel Gibson. Stay tuned for more.
