Latest Trailer For Scarlett Johansson Starrer GHOST IN THE SHELL

Ghost In The Shell has come under fire for ‘white-washing’ the lead character (Scarlet Johansson ain’t Asian). Maybe that’s a problem, maybe it’s not. However, what really matters is that Rupert Sander’s delivers a good movie. It seems to have that post-Matrix vibe going on, but I’m willing to let that slide because The Wachowski’s were highly influenced by anime – and this is based in anime.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed Japanese Anime property, Ghost In The Shell follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9 devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists. Directed by Rupert Sanders. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, and Kaori Momoi.

Ghost In The Shell hits UK screens on 31 March 2017.
