Here’s the trailer for Danielle Lessovitz’s Port Authority, a new drama executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Lessovitz’s film first premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival to critically acclaim – and it’s currently sitting with a score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes!
Leyna Bloom, Fionn Whitehead and McCaul Lombardi star in the film which which will be released in US cinemas by Momentum Pictures on 28 May 2021 and then on Digital and On Demand 1 June 2021.
Leyna Bloom is an actress, model and trans activist who is the first black/asian trans woman to be featured in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (coming out this Summer 2021), the first trans woman of color to lead a feature film at the Cannes Film Festival and the first openly trans woman of colour to appear in Vogue India. She will next be seen in the third and final season of FX’s critically acclaimed series “Pose.”
The synopsis:
After getting kicked out of his home in central Pennsylvania, Paul (Fionn Whitehead) arrives to NYC’s dizzying central station with nowhere to go. A momentary encounter with Wye (Leyna Bloom), a trans woman of color, leads him to seek her out. Transfixed by her beauty and confidence, a love soon blossoms. But as the two learn more about each other, Paul’s false narratives begin to surface and the double life he lives must be reconciled.
