Fatal Attraction: Kevin Costner Stars In Adrian Lyne’s 1983 Apple Macintosh Advert
Way, way back in 1983 Kevin Costner was a struggling actor still looking for his big break. He was over-looked for a part in Adrian Lyne’s Flashdance but he did manage to score a role in this Lyne-directed advert for Apple’s Lisa computer.
At the time Lyne was an experienced advert director, one of wave of British directors (along with Tony and Ridley Scott) who helped transform them form simple commercials into stylish works of art.
1983 also saw Costner cast in Lawrence Kasdan‘s The Big Chill, but sadly he was cut from the film’s final edit. Two years later Kasdan repaid the debt and cast the actor in his break-out role in Silverado.
The rest is history.
