JACK REACHER: The Curse Of Photoshop Strikes Again

I previously mentioned how the latest poster for Christopher McQuarrie‘s Jack Reacher (formerly One Shot) reminded me of the poster for great Taxi Driver. However, I didn’t mention how bad the Photoshopping job on this piece of publicity material was – just look at Tom Cruise’s head compared to his body (check it out below).

Everything is really off, the angle is all wrong and the lighting doesn’t match, terrible. The idea for the poster is solid, and if it was just a straight-up image of Tom Cruise then it would work, but it doesn’t. I’m no Photoshop expert, but this is pretty shonky work by any standards. Why Photoshop it at all? Surely there must be a batch of set photographs they could have used, or better still, called Cruise in for a photoshoot.
