Eyebrow Raising News: Chris Pine In Talks To Star In Dexter Fletcher’s THE SAINT

Chris Pine is in negotiations to star in Paramount Pictures’ latest incarnation of The Saint. Dexter Fletcher is directing the film which is based on the character created by Leslie Charteris.

The role of The Saint (aka Simon Templar) was made famous by Roger Moore in the 1960s and Val Kilmer played the character in an under-rated movie from Phillip Noyce in 1997. The character was portrayed onscreen by Adam Rayner in a TV movie which screened in 2017.

It would seem that Chris Pine is Paramount Pictures’ go-to franchise re-starter guy, having starred as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. In 2018 Chris Pratt was apparently in the frame for the role, but Pine is a much better fit.

Seth Grahame-Smith has written the most recent draft of the script for the film which will be produced by Lorenzo DiBonaventura, Brad Krevoy and the late (great) Robert Evans
