Actor/writer/dircetor/producer/Batman, Ben Affleck is currently attached to direct and produce a film based on Shannon Messenger’s Keeper of the Lost Cities for Disney. The double Oscar-winner will also co-write the script with Walt Disney Staff Writer Kate Gritmon.
Here’s the synopsis from Deadline:
In the bestselling novel, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first. When 12-year-old Sophie finally discovers where her secret telepathic ability comes from, she learns she’s actually not human but is from another world that exists side-by-side with ours.
Affleck is busy on the directing front – he is also set to direct, write and produce The Big Goodbye, a screen adaptation of Sam Wasson’s book The Big Goodbye: Chinatown and the Last Years of Hollywood (about the making of Roman Polanski‘s 1974 noir). He is also attached to direct King Leopold’s Ghost, a historical drama about how the Congo was plundered by King Leopold II, the king of Belgium in the 1800s.
It’ll be interesting to see which one of these projects comes to the boil first.
