You Gotta Have Fate: Pierce Brosnan To Play Dr. Fate Opposite Dwayne Johnson In BLACK ADAM

Well, here’s some news from left field: The mighty Pierce Brosnan will play DC Comics superhero Dr. Fate opposite Dwayne Johnson in the forthcoming Black Adam

I never figured Brosnan for a role in a superhero movie – but hey, why not – he’s an actor and they’re making a lot of those movies. Brosnan was in the frame for Batman in the 1980s, before the role went to Michael Keaton.

Brosnan joins Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

I know nothing about Black Adam, a spin-off from Shazam but my interest in this has shot-up from 100%.

According to THR:

Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, aka the good Dr. Fate, a son of an archaeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate. The character, created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman, is one of DC’s oldest characters, having first appeared in 1940’s More Fun Comics No. 5.

Jaume Collet-Serra will direct Black Adam which starts shooting in Atlanta in April 2021.
