Writer Gary Whitta Drops Out Of Gareth Edwards’ STAR WARS Spin-Off
Gary Whitta has dropped out of Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars spin-off movie and the writer is ‘now moving on to his next project’. Edwards’ film is expected to arrive on 16 December 2016, so don’t be surprised if a new writer takes over where Whitta left off (it’s likely he completed at least one draft).
In a statement Whitta said:
“The year I spent working with Lucasfilm on this Star Wars film has been by far the most rewarding period of my entire career. As a lifelong Star Wars fan I’m deeply grateful to have had the rare opportunity to contribute to a new chapter in its ongoing cinematic legacy. The film is going to be amazing.”
The film is rumoured to focus on Boba Fett (did we not get enough of that in the preques?) or Han Solo (a crazy idea without Harrison Ford).
More as it develops.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens 18 December 2015 and Gareth Edwards’ as yet untiled Star Wars spin-off debuts 16 December 2016.
