Movie fans of a certain age will remember the failed attempt by Tim Burton to make a Superman movie starring Nicolas Cage as the Man of Steel in the late 1990s. Kevin Smith wrote the film’s original script, while Wesley Strick and Dan Gilroy had input into the screenplay. The Jon Peters produced film was weeks away from shooting when Warner Bros pulled the plug on the production. There were many reasons for this – and you can now learn about them all in Jon Schnepp’s documentary, The Death of “Superman Lives”; What Happened?.
