Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman In Stanley Kubrick’s EYES WIDE SHUT

Eyes Wide Shut was the late Stanley Kubrick’s final film. Two years in production, it caused much controversy on its release due to the sexually explicit scenes contained in the film.

The 1999 release stars the then-married Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman as a doctor and his wife who turn a bizarre corner in their marriage. It was a strange film to be released in the summer months, with dream-like visuals and a slow and meandering pace. It’s kind of like a good novel really – takes you a long time to experience, but you end up thinking about it for ages afterwards.

Budgeted at $65 million, Eyes Wide Shut grossed $55 million at the US box office and $162 million globally.
