Sofia Coppola & Bill Murray Reteam For ON THE ROCKS
Apple TV+ and A24 have announced that On The Rocks, Sofia Coppola’s reteaming with the mighty Bill Murray will play in UK cinemas from 2 October, before arriving on Apple TV+ on 23 October. The pair previously worked together on the brilliant Lost In Translation (2003) and the 2015 Netflix Christmas special, A Very Murray Christmas.
Rashida Jones and Marlon Wayans co-star in the film which sees a young mother (Jones) reconnect with her larger-than-life playboy father (Murray) on an adventure through New York.
This is totally Movies In Focus‘ bag – I’m there for this. Lost In Translation is one of the best films of the 21st Century, and I expect this to be a lot of fun. Will On The Rocks finally get Bill Murray an Academy Award?

Laura (Rashida Jones) thinks she’s happily hitched, but when her husband Dean (Marlon Wayans) starts logging late hours at the office with a new co-worker, Laura begins to fear the worst. She turns to the one man she suspects may have insight: her charming, impulsive father Felix (Bill Murray), who insists they investigate the situation. As the two begin prowling New York at night, careening from uptown parties to downtown hotspots, they discover at the heart of their journey lies their own relationship.
