Return To Innocence: The New Trailer For THE IRISHMAN

Look, we all know that Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman is going to be good. Great even. But we’re all curious about the de-ageing technology which is going to make it’s stars (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel and Joe Pesci) younger.

This final trailer gives us a hint of how DeNiro et al will look. It looks solid, but I feel that I’ll have to watch the film two or three times before I get over the CGI enhancements. The uncanny valley is a harsh environment. 

God bless Netflix for throwing $150 million at this bad boy. If the 209 minute long film is a hit  – with all those eyeballs that ‘Netflix and chill’ – and an awards contender then we might see a lot more great filmmakers get the freedom to make expensive passion projects.

The Irishman will launch in select UK cinemas on November 8 and on Netflix on November 27.
