Prano Bailey-Bond’s CENSOR Gets Exclusive Preview Screenings In The UK

Prano Bailey-Bond’s video-nasty horror, Censor will be getting exclusive preview screenings across seven UK cities this August. The screenings are in conjunction with Massive Cinema.

Each screening will include introductions and/or audience Q&As with Prano Bailey-Bond and a pre-show short curated by Minute Shorts.

Niamh Algar (so good in Calm With Horses) leads the cast which is also features Nicholas Burns, Vincent Franklin, Sophia La Porta, Adrian Schiller and Michael Smiley. It’s also Executive Produced by the mighty film master, Kim Newman.

Specially curated by Minute Shorts, the short film, The Call Centre from Louise Connolly-Burnham will screen before the main feature at every preview. Minute Shorts is a London-based short film app, that recommends shorts for people to watch in the time they have available, handpicked by film lovers and always advocating for intentional consumption.

Censor will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 20 August 2021. 

The synopsis:

Britain, 1985. When film censor Enid discovers an eerie horror that speaks directly to her sister’s mysterious disappearance, she resolves to unravel the puzzle behind the film and its enigmatic director – a quest that will blur the lines between fiction and reality in terrifying ways. Steeped in glorious 1980s aesthetics, Censor is a bloody love letter to the VHS ‘video nasty’ horror classics of the past.
