The Wachowskis – 1999
The Matrix is a slick and visually amazing sci-fi film with some stunning filmmaking techniques from The Wachowskis.
The story’s on the slight side, but the action is the thing and it’s done with so much style that all its flaws must be forgiven. Keanu Reeves is as wooden as ever, but he’s given little to say and the film is all the better for it. It’s all about the style, man.
A great Saturday night film, watch The Matrix for the stunning visuals.
